They put the hurt on Forestville Central with a sharp 69-46 win on Friday. Western New York Maritime Charter's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jamanye Corbett was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Gonzalez, who scored 14 points.
Western New York Maritime Charter's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7. As for Forestville Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western New York Maritime Charter and Buffalo Academy of Science will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Forestville Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cattaraugus-Little Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th.
