Football Recap: Lake Stevens Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Lake Stevens had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Moses Lake Mavericks to the tune of 76-41 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won ten contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Leading Lake Stevens to victory were Blake Moser and Jayvian Ferrell. Moser threw for 336 yards and five TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Ferrell gained 255 total yards and three touchdowns. Those 336 passing yards gave Moser a new career-high. Lake Stevens' leading receiver Max Cook was Moser's top target yet again, picking up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Lake Stevens was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 224 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Moses Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Jay, who threw for 454 yards and six TDs while completing 72% of his passes. Elijah Burns helped Jay out on the ground, picking up 183 receiving yards and three scores, while also rushing for 39 yards.

Lake Stevens' win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Moses Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-1.

Coming up, Lake Stevens will be playing at home against Graham-Kapowsin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,882 yards in their previous games. Moses Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
