The high school football season came to a close in Arizona last weekend. Saguaro was among the victors, beating Chandler 20-15 in the Open Division final at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. That win helped propel the Sabercats to the No. 1 ranking in the final MaxPreps Arizona Top 25.

Ridge Docekal completed 107-of-151 passes for 1,577 yards and 13 touchdowns while running for 51 yards and another score on 21 carries. His favorite target was
Javen Jacobs, who caught 55 footballs for 878 yards and a pair of scores.
Jaedon Matthews kept defenses honest by rushing for 958 yards and six touchdowns on 94 carries.
Tristan Monday led Jason Mohns' defense with 76 tackles, 35 tackles for losses, 10.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
The Sabercts scored 528 points on the year, an average of 40.6 points per outing. Saguaro scored 40 points or more eight times during the 12-1 season while limiting its foes to 194 points and 14.9 points per game. The Sabercats held seven opponents to 15 points or less and posted a pair of shutouts.

Nicco Marchiol, Hamilton finishes No. 2 in Arizona's Top 25. Arizona's No. 5 prospect for the Class of 2022, according to 247Sports, completed 203-of-273 passes for 2,690 yards and 37 touchdowns while running for an additional 369 yards and six scores on 83 carries.
Open Division runner-up Chandler finishes in the No. 3 spot. Class 4A state champion Casa Grande is the only 11-Man squad in Arizona to go undefeated and takes over the No. 21 spot. Snowflake rested in the No. 10 spot after claiming the Class 3A title for the second year in a row. Eight-Man state champion Mogollon didn't finish in the Top 25, but they did stretch their winning streak to 21 games after going 12-0 and winning a second straight state title.
