Formerly homeless, Rodrick Fisher makes verbal commitment to play college football at Washington State

Rodrick Fisher of East Valley (Spokane, Wash.) is truly living a movie-type life similar to "The Blind Side." The junior receiver has gone from formerly being homeless to verbally committing to Washington State on Wednesday night.

He once dropped out of high school and couch-surfed. Fisher also didn't know the whereabouts of his father. But then he found his guiding light, as head football coach Adam Fisher let him come live with his family, according to Stefanie Loh of The Seattle Times.

Fisher reportedly elected to commit on May 10 to honor the anniversary of his brother's death.

He chose the Cougars over Boise State and Utah. The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder became the Cougars' fourth pledge in the 2018 class.

Fisher hauled in 42 receptions for 796 yards and eight touchdowns last fall. He also notched 110 rushing yards and one touchdown. The speedster also broke the school record in the 100-meter dash with a blazing 10.43-second performance in March.
