Wide receiver
Kevin Gulyas set a Pennsylvania single-season state receiving record, and quarterback
Brendan Nosovitch just missed a career passing record Friday night, but their efforts weren't enough to keep defending champion Allentown Central Catholic (Pa.) from suffering a lopsided 70-14 loss to
Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.) during the Class AAA state semifinals.
Gulyas, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior, was held to nine catches for 83 yards, but still finished the season with a state-record 122 catches for 2,037 yards, according to the
Harrisburg Patriot-News.
Playing on an injured left ankle, Nosovitch completed 25 of 53 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-1, 195-pound University of South Carolina recruit finished his career with 3,804 yards, only 20 yards short of the state record.
