Oakdale (Tenn.) fielded a punt at his own 20-yard line against Sale Creek - and then things got interesting.
He pitched the ball to
Nathen Arrowood, who trotted to his left and out of nowhere threw the ball across the field to teammate
Austin Helton. The senior wisely stepped back to keep the ball onside and sprinted 80 yards up the sideline for the spectacular touchdown. Shades of the 2000 Music City Miracle where Titans tight end Frank Wychek threw a lateral to Kevin Dyson, who then ran 75 yards for a score and a 22-16 Tennessee victory.
The terrific Oakdale touchdown ignited a 39-0 shutout win over Sale Creek.
