St. David hasn't had much luck against Wake Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. David's came out on top against Trinity Academy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Warriors walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Smith Goracke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for St. David's: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise.
Goracke wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evan Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Thompson has posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Wake Christian Academy made easy work of Raleigh HomeSchool on Monday and carried off a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like St. David's, Wake Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Pacileo. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Pacileo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Avery McArthur and Joshua Rosser did most of the damage at the plate: McArthur went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Rosser went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bryton Davenport, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Wake Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Wake Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for St. David's, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. David's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wake Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. David's couldn't quite finish off Wake Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
