How many Great Lakes teams are in this week's Top 25 high school football rankings?
Silos, smokestacks, steeples and stadium lights. The Great Lakes region is molded by its horizon. North Coast communities are defined - in part - by Friday nights.
Here's our latest look at the top prep football teams in a landscape that houses the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Lambeau Field, the Big Ten Conference, Notre Dame and several of the top high school programs in the history of the sport.
State champs, national acclaim, big-time talent. North Coast football is a force. So are the following teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

1. Archbishop Hoban (Akron, Ohio) – 2-0Last Week (1): Led by Arizona State recruit and senior running back
DeaMonte Trayanum, the Knights beat
Cardinal Mooney (Youngstown, Ohio) 49-0. Traynum carried the ball eight times for 250 yards and four touchdowns.

4. Muskegon (Mich.) – 2-0Last Week (4): Ohio State commit
Cameron Martinez ran for two touchdowns, threw for one and returned a kickoff 90-yards for another as the Big Reds beat
King (Detroit) in a rematch of last year’s MHSAA Division 3 state championship (King won 41-25).

5. Mentor (Ohio) – 2-0 Last Week (5): The Cardinals rallied from a 31-17 fourth quarter deficit by outscoring St. Ignatius (Cleveland) 21-0 in the final 12 minutes for a 38-31 victory. Senior running back
Brian Trobel carried the ball 27 times for 133 yards and four touchdowns.

DaMonta Witherspoon carried the ball 24 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns and the Flyers defense held
Trinity Catholic (St. Louis, Mo.) scoreless in a 32-0 victory. It was the first time Trinity had been shutout since 2014.
