Even if things were shuffled around here and there, the power rankings for this week won't seem too unfamiliar if you've been following along. Don't let that fool you into thinking nothing interesting happened, though. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Providence Country Day/Wheeler/Sanchez Complex got a 45 - 22 win over Central Falls last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Elijah Matthews. Matthews ran for 152 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance made Matthews one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Bishop Hendricken (2nd in the power rankings) and Cranston East (5th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Bishop Hendricken took its game against Cranston East by a confident 56 - 32 score. Despite the outcome, neither team improved or gave up its position in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Moses Brown (4th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and St. Raphael Academy (27th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both North Kingstown and Moses Brown put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
