Video: LaMelo Ball vs. Zion Williamson full-game highlightsSouth Carolina star gets the win in front of overflow crowd in Las Vegas.
In what might turn out to be the second-most hyped matchup in Las Vegas this summer (behind Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor, of course), teenage basketball celebrities
LaMelo Ball and
Zion Williamson dueled Wednesday night at the adidas Summer Championships.
An overflow crowd swamped the Cashman Center and nearly 80,000 fans tuned into Ballislife.com's live stream of the contest.
Williamson, an explosive athlete and highlight king, led his South Carolina club team past Big Baller Brand 104-92 – punctuating the win with an emphatic slam late in the game.
Regarded as the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2018, Williamson electrified fans with explosive dunks, slick dribbling and breathtaking drives. Even his missed dunks sent the maximum capacity crowd into a frenzy.
He ended with a team-high 28 points on 11 of 15 from the field to go along with eight rebounds.
Ball also showed out by going off for a game-high 31 points and eight assists. The youngest of the famed brother trio is already committed to UCLA.
Coached by his famous father LaVar for Big Baller Brand, LaMelo is entering his junior year at
Chino Hills (Calif.) after averaging 26.7 points and nearly 10 assists per game as a sophomore. He famously authored a 92-point game in February.
Williamson piled up 36.8 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a junior at
Spartanburg Day (S.C.). The king of high school basketball highlights has become such a phenom, rapper Drake was pictured wearing his jersey in January.
