The Arizona College Prep Knights entered their tilt with the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Arizona College Prep simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Desert Sunrise 57-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Arizona College Prep, who have now won three contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Arizona College Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Sasso, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Sasso was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Chapman, who picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Arizona College Prep's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points per game. As for Desert Sunrise, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arizona College Prep will take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Desert Sunrise, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Combs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Combs comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
