The latest addition is Fort Bend Bush (Richmond) thanks to its one-point victory over No. 7 Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City) in a District 23-5A contest.
In another showdown last week, No. 14 Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City) scored a 10-point victory over No. 15 Fort Bend Travis (Missouri City) to pull even in the District 23-6A standings.
Basketball success for the suburban Houston school district is not new. Fort Bend Willowridge (Houston) won a state title in 1994 and went back-to-back in 2000-01. Bush wore the crown in 2010 and Travis did the same in 2013. Fort Bend Dulles (Sugar Land) and Travis were finalists in 2008 and 2012, respectively.

Chase Winchester chipped in with 18 each in a 98-73 rout of Duncanville to complete a 2-0 week.
3. (4) Brandeis (San Antonio) 24-0Kobe Magee scored 24 points and
Ellis Jefferson had 22 in a 77-56 defeat of O‘Connor (Helotes) to complete a 2-0 week for the Broncos.
4. (5) Lancaster 22-2 Deon Barrett broke loose for 29 points in an 84-60 takedown of Mansfield Timberview (Arlington) to cap a 2-0 week for the Tigers.
5. (7) Benjamin Davis (Houston) 21-2Taylor Pearson scored 19 points in an 83-70 defeat of Aldine to cap a 2-0 week for the Falcons.
6. (8) Steele (Cibolo) 23-1Gerald Liddell scored 20 points to help the Knights roll to a 91-67 rout of Canyon (New Braunfels).
7. (3) Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City) 23-2The Knights absorbed their first District 23-5A loss, 61-60, at the hands of Fort Bend Bush (Richmond) despite 16 points from
Kenneth Busby.
8. (9) Houston Math Science & Tech 22-4Following a 69-63 midweek victory over Lamar (Houston) the Tigers completed a 2-0 week with a rout of Westside (Houston).
9. (10) Cedar Hill 19-3Lesley Varner and
Jonathan Webb scored 15 points each in a 62-59 triumph over South Grand Prairie to put a bow on a 2-0 week.
10. (11) Skyline (Dallas) 21-1Tivin Ridguard accounted for 18 points in a 56-38 defeat of Jesuit (Dallas) to complete a 2-0 week for the Raiders.
11. (12) Tascosa (Amarillo) 24-0Quinn Taylor pumped in 24 points in a midweek 67-48 victory over rival Amarillo. The Rebels completed a 2-0 week with a 95-64 rout of Monterey (Lubbock).
12. (13) Shoemaker (Killeen) 23-2A total of 10 Wolves scored, led by
Aaron Warren, in a 63-43 humbling of Ellison (Killeen) to complete a 2-0 week.
13. (14) North Crowley (Fort Worth) 21-3Four Panthers scored in double figures led by
Kalem Hardaway with 14 points in a 77-53 mauling of Martin (Arlington).
14. (22) Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City) 23-4The Hurricanes connected on nine 3-pointers in a 68-58 victory over Fort Bend Travis (Missouri City) to tie the Tigers for the District 23-6A lead with a 9-1 record.
15. (6) Fort Bend Travis (Richmond) 22-4The Tigers lost for the first time in District 23-6A, falling to Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City) 68-58, but rebounded with a 58-54 win over Fort Bend Austin (Sugar Land).
16. (16) Vista Ridge (Cedar Park) 24-2Mekhi Burgess scored 23 points in a 71-57 win over Cedar Park that came after a midweek 47-45 road loss to Leander.
17. (17) The Woodlands 21-5Clay Creighton and
Romello Wilbert scored 14 points each in a 60-56 win over Kingwood to complete a 2-0 week for the Highlanders.
18. (18) Prestonwood Christian (Plano) 22-7Freshman guard
Justin Webster led with 19 points in a 64-44 takedown of Trinity Christian (Addison) to claim the lead in TAPPS 5A District I.
19. (20) Richardson 20-5The Eagles topped off a 2-0 week with a 79-64 victory over North Mesquite.

Brandon Averette each scored 18 points.
20. (23) Westlake (Austin) 21-2Sophomore forward
Brock Cunningham scored 12 points to help the Chaparrals to a 49-35 victory over Bowie (Austin).
21. (24) Plano East 20-6Chris Parker led the District 6-6A leader with 17 points in a 65-49 bashing of Boyd (McKinney).
22. (19) Allen 19-6The Eagles remain in second place in the rugged District 6-6A despite a 47-46 loss to Lewisville on Friday.
Hans Burwitz scored 14 for Allen.
23. (NR) Yates (Houston) 16-3The Lions averaged 103 points for the week with lopsided wins over North Forest (Houston) and Austin (Houston).
24. (NR) Burges (El Paso) 21-0Jawuan Newton scored 15 points in a 56-34 pounding of El Paso.
25. (NR) Fort Bend Bush (Richmond) 19-7Bryson Etienne scored 24 points in a 61-60 victory over Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City).
