The most popular player page on MaxPreps at the moment doesn't belong to a top recruit heading to a major college program. That distinction currently goes to social media star
Dayshawn Preston of
Pittsford (N.Y.), who is prominently featured with his family via "Dougherty Dozen"
Instagram,
TikTok and
YouTube accounts, which collectively have 8.7 million followers and subscribers.
Over the weekend, Preston celebrated his 14th birthday and helped Pittsford beat Rush-Henrietta (Henrietta) 23-13 with
big plays on both sides of the ball. The Panthers are 4-5 heading into Friday's regular season finale against Aquinas Institute (Rochester).
Preston, listed as a wide receiver and cornerback, has two adopted brothers in the Pittsford program, Alex and
James Dougherty.
The "Dougherty Dozen" has been featured on the Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America and People Magazine. Much of the content on the family's various platforms revolves around the challenges of meal planning for a family of 13.
Alicia and Josh Dougherty have four biological children and have adopted or are serving as foster parents for seven others.
