According to the Moultrie Observer, Rush Propst of
Colquitt County (Moultrie) will be suspended for the upcoming season by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for head-butting one of his players during Class AAAAAA state semifinal game against Mill Creek last year.
Propst commented on the incident to MaxPreps.com's Mitch Stephens in December.
"We were playing like crap," Propst said. "After the head-butt, I think we allowed two first downs and won going away. I might have to head-butt someone every time if we get results like that."
Propst became a national name in high school coaching thanks in part to the MTV reality show
Two-A-Days, which chronicled his team at Hoover (Ala.) back in 2006 and 2007.
Under Propst's guidance, the Packers have won back-to-back state titles and were considered a strong threat to three-peat.
Wayne Grandy of the Observer reports that Propst is appealing the decision and prepping his team for this season.
Rush Propst has won seven state titles in stops at Hoover (Ala.) and Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.).
