The
Cyrus Kouandjio saga on National Signing Day continues to evolve. The star player announced he was going to Auburn this morning, but the Tigers have not received any letter of intent.
DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) coach Bill McGregor told MaxPreps, "I figured everything was done (after the press conference) and all of a sudden Auburn calls and says that he hasn't faxed anything in."

Then somebody said, "Cyrus isn't happy with his decision."
Kouandjio told McGregor, who is one of the nation's most successful coaches, "I don't know if it's the decision I wanted to make."
"I sat him down and told him that he wasn't here to please me, his parents, his brother or anyone else. You have to decide what you want to do. We had just finished taking pictures and it was a scramble. He then went to I-Hop with the other kids (13 others) who had signed. The ironic part is that he looked miserable when he made his decision (on national television). It was like a cloud of gloom.
"This is all brand new territory to me," McGregor confessed. "He's by far the highest-ranked player I've ever had."
I plan to talk with Coach McGregor tonight for more information.
