Marquise Williams is making big waves through the airways very early in the 2010 football season.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder passed for 341 yards and seven touchdowns while sitting out most of the fourth quarter Friday night during a 61-0 rout of
Harding University (Charlotte). He completed 18 of 28 passes, including nine straight during one stretch.
Williams, who has committed to the University of North Carolina, guided the Mavericks to a 55-0 lead over the first three quarters. Eight players caught passes and they ran the ball just five times.
Brenton Samuels returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown.
One week earlier, the Mavericks opened with a 26-6 victory over perennial powerhouse Independence (Charlotte), marking only the third home loss for Independence since 1999. Williams led the way by passing for 205 yards and two touchdowns and running for 141 yards and two other touchdowns.
