With three Ohio state champions coming from the Cincinnati area, Archbishop Moeller was selected as our first an only school in the state to be honored as part of the MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard.
The ceremony took place during a formal banquet honoring the basketball teams - from JV up to Varsity. With approximately 500 people in attendance, Head Coach Carl Kremer kicked off the event by thanking those who help to make the Moeller program a successful one. Coach Kremer let it be known that this evening was not about focusing on individual performances or accolades...this was a celebration of the Team. When it was all said and done, this group of young men pulled off their third victory over St. Xavier this season, in the final game to bring home a state championship.
Even as SFC Mark Hobbs of the Ohio Army National Guard presented Coach Kremer with the MaxPreps Tour of Champions National Rankings Trophy, Mr. Kremer was not about to take sole ownership of the award. In a gracious move, Coach Kremer called his seniors up to the podium to accept the trophy...a humble gesture reflective of a truly professional and deserving state champion.
