The nation's top-rated running back is off the board.
He chose the Crimson Tide over Florida, FSU, Georgia and Texas. His brother, Umstead, is a linebacker for Florida.
The 6-foot, 214-pound well-rounded talent compiled 1,587 rushing yards with 8.5 yards per carry, 2,006 total yards and 25 total TDs in three seasons for the No. 5-ranked Ascenders.
Sanders also racked up 1,063 rushing yards while averaging 11.4 yards per carry with 1,532 total yards and 17 TDs in guiding Port St. Joe (FL) to the state title game in the lowest classification of Florida — as a freshman.
He also flashed his versatility on defense with 59 tackles, 12 pass deflections, four interceptions and pick-six — which is why he verbally committed to Alabama as a freshman to play defensive back.
The humble Sanders hails from the tiny town of Port St. Joe and never forgot where he came from.
"It's still unreal to me to be blessed with the opportunity," Sanders told MaxPreps. "I love my city because I know all 3,500 and I have that small town support."
"Never forget where you come from. I grew up with my 7-on-7 team. I was always taught no matter what to remember who was with you from the beginning and I always kept that mindset."
