The Hutsonville/Palestine Tigers will challenge the Grayville Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hutsonville/Palestine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Hutsonville/Palestine faced off against Oblong on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 17-3 victory. The Tigers have beaten the Panthers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Hayden Monan was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rilyn Lawhead, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Brynn Griffin was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hutsonville/Palestine hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Grayville came up short against Webber on Monday and fell 8-5. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nevaeh Kissee made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Annelise Garrison, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hutsonville/Palestine's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Grayville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Grayville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hutsonville/Palestine has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Grayville, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Hutsonville/Palestine's sizable advantage in that area, the Bison will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hutsonville/Palestine got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Grayville by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
