After flying high against the Whittell Warriors last Tuesday, the Pyramid Lake Lakers came back down to earth. Pyramid Lake received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 54-39 to Virginia City. Pyramid Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Virginia City apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Defeat or not, Pyramid Lake got some senior leadership from Takoda Rivers and Warren Christy. Rivers dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Christy. scored six points along with 11 rebounds. Christy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Pyramid Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Virginia City, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Excel Christian the next time they take the court. Virginia City will host Excel Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Pyramid Lake will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
