The McKenzie Tigers lost against the Georgiana Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. McKenzie had to suffer through a rough 80-43 loss at the hands of Georgiana. McKenzie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.
Despite the defeat, McKenzie saw an underclassman step up: Quay Jackson scored 20 points along with five steals. The contest was Jackson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
McKenzie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Georgiana, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
McKenzie has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Red Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Georgiana, they will head out on the road to face off against Shields at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Shields focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
