Can't Touch This
Manheim Central's 48 - 7 win over Conestoga Valley last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Tyler Flick. Flick rushed for 290 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Flick one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between St. Joseph's Prep (1st in the power rankings) and Archbishop Wood (13th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Everything went St. Joseph's Prep's way against Archbishop Wood as it secured a 49 - 14 win. St. Joseph's Prep did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps national rankings indicated.
Game of Inches
It doesn't get any closer than a one-point game, and that was the margin of last week's closest contest, which featured thrill-seekers Freedom and Emmaus. Freedom won an extremely close contest against Emmaus with a final score of 32 - 31. Freedom and Emmaus were a much more even match than Freedom's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Seneca Valley (23rd in the power rankings) and Pine-Richland (4th). This will be the second home game in a row for Pine-Richland. Both the Pine-Richland and Seneca Valley defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 12 ppg and 7.77 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
