La Salle Academy got a good showing from Teagan O'Reilly, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. O'Reilly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Elle Kershaw made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Erin Moran also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, East Providence waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Crusaders.
The team relied heavily on Nethania Figueroa, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Trinity Provencher, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
East Providence's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for La Salle Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. La Salle Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like East Providence struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
La Salle Academy got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against East Providence by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Townies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
