The California Division I state champion Mater Dei Monarchs placed three on the MaxPreps California All-State team, including two on the overall first team and one MVP.
Katin Reinhardt has been selected as the overall state MVP as well as the top player in Division I. He's joined on the first team by teammate Xavier Johnson. Stanley Johnson, a sophomore, is listed among the 15 honorable mention picks.
State champions filled out four of the five MVP spots. Brandon Ranolph of St. Benard (Playa del Rey), the Division V MVP, is the only non-state champion to win.
Other MVP winners include Aaron Gordon of Archbishop Mitty in Division II, Marqueze Coleman of Alemany in Division III and Jabari Bird of Saleseian (Richmond) in Division IV.
