Kyle Trask committed to the University of Florida last week, following in the footsteps of such high school football legends as Tim Tebow, John Brantley and Will Grier, who have done the same in the last decade.
Trask doesn't fit the mold of a high school football titan, however.
He's currently the backup at Texas high school football power
Manvel (Texas).
In fairness, Trask is playing behind one of the country's most dynamic players, 5-foot-9
D'Eriq King, who accounted for nearly 4,000 yards from scrimmage last year.
King meanwhile is committed to TCU.
In limited action, Trask actually posted a slightly higher QB rating than King, completing 48 of 68 passes for 786 yards and six touchdowns (with no interceptions.) At 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Trask also has prototypical size for the position.
This much is clear: Manvel is deep at the quarterback position.
