Last week in the semifinals, Centennial became the first team since 2013 to beat
Mater Dei (Santa Ana) twice in the same season. The Huskies improved to 11-1 with a 28-27 win over the Monarchs to punch a ticket to their first section championship game in a decade.
Centennial's only loss came in overtime against Santa Margarita in late August. The Huskies were without head coach Matt Logan, who was hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
Santa Margarita won the regular season meeting without four-star wide receiver
Trent Mosley, who missed five games early in the season with a foot injury. The Eagles are playing in their first section title game since 2011 after beating
Orange Lutheran (Orange) 31-6 in the other semifinal.
In Georgia,
Grayson (Loganville) took over as the No. 1 team in the MaxPreps Top 25 this week and puts its 26-game win streak on the line Friday at No. 11

Carrollton is 26-1 over the last two years with the only loss coming against Grayson in last year's AAAAAA state championship game, 38-24.

In Nevada,
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) goes for its fifth consecutive state title and 16th since 2007. The Gaels face
Arbor View (Las Vegas) in the Open Division state championship Tuesday at Allegiant Stadium. The Gaels have not lost to an in-state opponent since the 2019 4A state semifinals when
Liberty (Henderson) won 30-24 in overtime.
Cass Tech looks to repeat as Division 1 state champs Sunday at Ford Field. The Technicians lock horns with
Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.) in a matchup of 13-0 teams.

Finally, in Arizona No. 18
Hamilton (Chandler) faces rival
Chandler for the second time in four weeks with the winner advancing to the Open Division state championship. The Huskies erased a 34-13 third quarter deficit en route to a 55-41 win. The winner will face
