See nation's top high school dunkers throw it down.
The NBA Dunk Contest is tomorrow, so we at MaxPreps thought we'd create our own fantasy version of a high school basketball slam dunk competition.
The stacked field comprises of one superstar senior, explosive underclassmen and a talented female. They are listed in alphabetical order.
1. Francesca Belibi might be the only girl in the competition, but she can hang with the big boys. The 15-year-old sophomore threw down a nasty one-handed jam this season and became the first female in Colorado state history to dunk in a game. The 6-foot-1 Belibi has already dunked twice this year and is averaging 15.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and three blocks per game for 16-6
Regis Jesuit (Aurora, Colo.).
2. Michael Porter Jr. is one of the main headliners for this event. The 6-foot-10, 213-pound high-flying small forward will dunk over anyone intruding his path. The nation's second-rated overall senior recruit by 247Sports utilizes his freakish 7-1 wingspan to unleash a variety of explosive dunks and can take off from ridiculously long distances. 3. Cassius Stanley of
Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.) might be the most exciting sophomore in the nation. He executed a breathtaking reverse slam dunk from just outside the third block this season. The country's No. 11 overall prospect by 247Sports has been an electrifying, viral dunker in the social space for the past two years. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound explosive athlete is averaging 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and three assists per game this season for the 17-win Wolverines.
4. Kyree Walker of
Moreau Catholic (Hayward, Calif.) could be the best freshman in America. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound beast won the Jordan Anti-Gravity Dunk Contest this past summer over elite foes - as just an eighth-grader. Walker is averaging 21.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the 16-win Mariners.
5. Emmitt Williams is certainly a crowd pleaser. The nation's No. 22 overall junior recruit by 247Sports captured the City of Palms Classic dunk contest this past year by performing a spectacular windmill dunk over a sitting teammate. Williams' violent jams have spurred
IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) to the No. 1 spot in the Independent rankings. The 6-foot-8, 200-pound Williams is averaging 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season.
6. Last up is viral sensation
Zion Williamson. The country's most exciting recruit has performed a 360-degree windmill and a ridiculous out of bounds alley-oop windmill in games this season. Both of those crazy feats were the top play on SportsCenter. He also won the Elite 24 Dunk Contest this past summer. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound monster is the second-rated overall prospect in the 2018 Class by 247Sports and would likely be the favorite in this event. Williamson is averaging 36.4 points, 13.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this year for
Spartanburg Day (S.C.).
