St. Thomas More is ranked No. 2 in the nation and starts with a 23-game win streakThe Barbe Buccaneers had a spectacular season in 2014, winning a state championship, earning a No. 1 national ranking and building a 28-game win streak.
However, Barbe does not enter the 2015 season with the nation's longest win streak. That honor goes to a small school in Wisconsin, Lake Country Lutheran, that went 32-0.
Top 10 active high school baseball win streaks
1. Lake Country Lutheran (Hartland, Wis.) - 32
After losing in the Division IV state championship game in 2013, Lake Country Lutheran did not lose a game in 2014 while winning the state championship. The Lightning outscored their opponents 438-41 last year and had only two games with a margin of victory less than five runs. The season opener is set for April 4 against Kettle Moraine Lutheran.

Douglass won the 1A title in Texas last season and enters this season with the second-longest streak in the nation.

2. Douglass (Texas) - 29
The Indians had a spectacular finish to their season, winning 29 straight games and posting 20 shutouts during the season. That total ranks third all-time, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations Record Book. Douglass also posted eight shutouts in a row to tie a national record, and finished the season with six straight shutouts.
3. Barbe (Lake Charles, La.) - 28
The Buccaneers began the defense of their mythical national championship at the Sulphur Tournament this weekend. Barbe finished the 2014 season with 28 straight wins, a Class 5A state championship and the No. 1 ranking in the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 rankings.
3. Bryant (Ark.) - 28
Bryant, the Class 7A state champion in Arkansas, will open its season against the Class 4A champion, Arkadelphia, on Tuesday with a 28-game win streak on the line.
3. Puyallup (Wash.) - 28
The Vikings won the Class 4A state championship in Washington last year and are favored to repeat in 2015. Maintaining the win streak will be a difficult task, however, as Puyallup plays in the nation's toughest tournament, the National High School Invitational in North Carolina, at the end of March.
6. St. Mary's (Annapolis, Md.) - 26
After losing the second game of the season, St. Mary's won 26 in a row to capture the MIAA Class B state championship. The Saints open their season on Friday against Norfolk Christian (Norfolk, Va.).
6. St. Cloud Cathedral (Minn.) - 26
St. Cloud Cathedral won its last 26 games of the season to capture the Minnesota Class 2A state championship. In doing so, it defeated Fairmont, which entered the state finals with a 28-game win streak. St. Cloud Cathedral opens its season on April 7 vs. Becker.

8. Sutter (Calif.) - 25
The Huskies were 2-2 at one point last year before rattling off 25 in a row for their second-straight Northern Section championship. They open their season Tuesday against Colfax.
9. St. Thomas More (Lafayette, La.) - 23
The defending Class 4A state champion begins the season ranked No. 2 in the nation by MaxPreps. The Cougars open their season this weekend at the WGNO Tournament.
9. Henley (Klamath Falls, Ore.) - 23
Posting a 32-1 record last year, Henley won its final 23 games to claim the Class 4A state championship. The Hornets open at Bend on March 18.
Note: The national record for consecutive wins is 89 by Portsmouth (N.H.) from 2008-12.
