California high school basketball: State playoff brackets

The California Interscholastic Federation announced the brackets for the boys and girls state basketball playoffs Sunday. The finals will be held March 13-14 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth), No. 3 in the MaxPreps Top 25, grabbed the top-seed in the boys Southern California Open Division regional after winning the Southern Section title with a 59-53 win Saturday over Harvard-Westlake (Studio City).

Jason Crowe Jr and Inglewood grabbed the 11 seed in the SoCal Division I bracket. The Missouri commit leads nation in scoring with a 43.6 point average.

In the north, Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco) is the top-seed in the Open Division field as the Crusaders look to advance to the state championship game for a second consecutive season.

On the girls side, No. 5 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) is the top-seed in the girls Southern California Open Division regional after upending No. 2 Ontario Christian (Ontario) 69-62 in the section finals on Saturday. That win was on the heels of a 66-62 semifinal win over No. 4 Etiwanda. 

In the north, No. 3 Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) is the top-seed in the Open Division field as the Monarchs look to reach their fifth straight state final.
