The St. Thomas Aquinas receiver caught three touchdowns in a championship win over Plant. High school football season doesn't end this weekend after all.
Two games featuring four state champions will be a part of the Geico Showcase, an offshoot of the State Bowl Championship Series that took place in Florida in 2014.
The Dec. 23 games will take place at The Star, the training facility of the Dallas Cowboys, and will feature
St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) versus
Bingham (South Jordan, Utah), and
Chandler (Ariz.) against
Valdosta (Ga.).
St. Thomas (12-2), which won its 10th state crown last weekend with a decisive win over Plant (Tampa), is No. 6 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard, and Bingham (14-0) is No. 18. Chandler (12-2) finished No. 20 in the Xcellent 25 while Valdosta (14-1) won the Georgia 6A title.
