Kasen Williams, rated as Washington's top football prospect and one of the top receiving recruits in the nation, will announce his college choice on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.
The announcement will come at his high school,
Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.). He narrowed his choices to Washington, California, Florida, LSU and Notre Dame.
Williams is ranked 37th nationally among all recruits from the Class of 2011, according to MaxPreps.com. Recruiting expert Tom Lemming says the two-time All-State performer "shows strong hands, terrific routes and catches everything within reach."
Williams was Jake Heaps' No. 1 target last year with 74 catches for 1,209 yards and 20 touchdowns last season. He had a long touchdown catch of 91 yards.
The 6-foot-2, 197-pounder will have to adjust to life without Heaps this season, but with his college commitment out of the way plenty of pressure will be relieved.
