Video: Joey Gallo high school baseball highlightsFormer Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) standout was recently called up to the Texas Rangers.Two new teams top the Midwest and Northeast regions in the MaxPreps Regional Computer Baseball Rankings, as Mt. Carmel (Chicago) and Old Town (Maine) take over the top spots in their respective regions.
Mt. Carmel was not even ranked last week, but it moved ahead of Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) this week. Meanwhile Old Town moved from No. 3 to No. 1, taking over the top spot from Punxsutawney (Pa.) in the Northeast.
The ratings are based on the
MaxPreps Computer Rankings, which are posted twice a week. Also check out
playoff brackets from around the nation.
The five regions are divided as follows:
West: California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas
Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico
South: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland
Northeast: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, District of Columbia, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine
