The Illinois Lutheran Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-25 walloping at the hands of La Salette Academy. Illinois Lutheran was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.
Josh Ramirez and Jace Danzy certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Ramirez scored four points, while Danzy scored no points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ramirez has scored all season.
Illinois Lutheran struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as La Salette Academy pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Charles Prather continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for La Salette Academy, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Sumantri, who scored eight points.
Illinois Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for La Salette Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Illinois Lutheran's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tri-Point at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. Tri-Point has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. La Salette Academy will take on Cissna Park in a holiday battle at 6:15 p.m. on Monday at. Cissna Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
