Wimberley (Texas), 38-12, during the Class 3A Division II state football playoffs. Sadler needed 13 points to eclipse the national record of 453 by Brett Law of
Sheridan (Ind.) in 1988. He did get a touchdown, extra point and field goal while rushing for 207 yards on 33 carries.

Austin Sheehan of
Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.) can not get credit for a national record after averaging a whopping 34.93 yards per catch this year, according to John Gillis of the National Federation of State High School Associations. He had only 29 catches and to qualify a player must have at least 75 catches, Gillis told MaxPreps.

Argyle (Texas) sophomore Cole Hedlund has set a Texas state record by kicking 21 field goals this year.

Anthony Wales suffered a separated left shoulder early in the first quarter, but

FOOT LOCKER DUEL TO BE SUPERBWhen Edward Cheserek of
St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) challenges Futsum Zeinasellassie of
North Central (Indianapolis) on Saturday in San Diego for the Foot Locker National Cross Country championship, it should be one of the greatest distance duels in prep history.
Cheserek has broken course records in every race this fall, while Zeinasellassie is fresh off a record-breaking victory (15 minutes, 3 seconds) during the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Ore.
Christian Brothers Academy (Lincroft, N.J.) won the boys team title, 95-99 over powerful Carroll (Southlake, Texas).
In the girls division sophomore sensation Sarah Baxter of
Simi Valley (Calif.) captured the individual crown with a time of 17:38.
Fayetteville-Manlius (Manlius, N.Y.) won the team crown for the sixth straight year with 60 points in spite of suspensions and injuries.
