After a string of six wins, the Virginia High Bearcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Battle. Virginia High was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as John Battle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 10th.
Among those leading the charge was Ava Wallace, who scored seven points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Kelley, who scored 11 points.
Virginia High's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for John Battle, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11.
Virginia High will be playing in front of their home fans against Richlands at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Battle, they will head out on the road to square off against Abingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
