The Major League Baseball Draft is less than a month away with the first round set to kick off on June 6. Two of the top high school players expected to be picked in the first 10 picks are a pair of outfielders from the state of Georgia.
Austin Meadows of Grayson and Clint Frazier of Loganville have long been considered the top two high school outfielders and there's a good distance between them and the third player on the list.
However they are not the only outfielders who could find their way into the first or second rounds. In fact a total of four outfielders from the state of Georgia could go among the top 100 picks.
Here's a look at the top 10 outfield prospects for this year's MLB draft.
Top 10 Outfielders for the MLB Draft
Clint Frazier, Loganville (Ga.)
Frazier made a huge impression in his showdown with Meadows in mid-March, belting a pair of home runs, including a mammoth shot over the outfield lights. Some see Frazier as a Mike Trout-like talent who is ready to play at the big league level. He is one of the national leaders in home runs with 16. Most mock drafts have Frazier going somewhere in the top five.

At one time considered the top overall pick in the draft, Meadows has slid a bit behind about six college players and even two or three high school players in several mock drafts. While Meadows has showcased four tools during his senior season, he has only produced four home runs. According to one report, however, his power numbers are not seen as too much of a concern. He'll likely be the second high school outfielder chosen.

Josh Hart, Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.)Georgia is loaded with quality outfielders and Hart could be the third to go in the first round. He will likely go toward the end of the first round or the beginning of the compensatory round. He's valued more for his speed and defense, but he did hit four home runs and hit .461 on the season.
Photos of Josh HartJustin Williams, Terrebonne (Houma, La.)Some mock drafts have Williams as the third high school outfielder chosen in the draft and others don't have Williams anywhere among the top 60 picks. Terrebonne did not qualify for the playoffs so Williams had a short season. A shortstop for Terrebonne, Williams is expected to move to the outfield at the next level.
Ryan Boldt, Red Wing (Minn.)It's been a short senior season for Boldt. A breakout star this summer at the Perfect Game All-American Classic where he was MVP, Boldt played only a couple of games his senior year after injuring his knee sliding into third base in the first game of the season. A subsequent exam revealed a meniscus tear. He had surgery on Monday and will miss the remainder of the season. Whether or not the injury affects his draft status remains to be seen. Most mock drafts have Boldt going late in the first round. According to the Star Tribune, Boldt hopes to be ready to play this summer.
Cord Sandberg, Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.)One of the nation's top football prospects, Sandberg is a possible early-round draft pick. Some mock drafts have Sandberg, who quarterbacked the Manatee football team last season, going late in the compensatory rounds or somewhere in the second round. Sandberg already has a scholarship to Mississippi State, where he will play football, so don't be surprised to see him slide in the draft despite his first-round talent.

Yet another Georgia outfielder, McClure has shown good power this year, as he belted eight home runs and nine doubles and knocked in 39 runs while batting .388.
Anfernee Grier, Russell County (Seale, Ala.)
Also a middle infielder, Grier was a big-time producer for Russell County this year as he batted .400 with 64 hits, 53 RBIs, 14 doubles and six home runs for a team that went 42-6.

Abreu received plenty of notice last year when scouts came to watch eventual No. 6 overall pick Albert Amora. Abreu led Mater Academy to a 26-5 record and the second round of the Florida 6A playoffs. While he is considered smooth and athletic, he is likely more suited for the corner outfield positions, according to one report.
