Video: Highlights of Myles Brennan in season opener
The LSU commit broke the Mississippi state passing yardage record Friday night. In the state that produced Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, and whose nephew Dylan owned the state career yardage mark, a new name takes over the Mississippi record book.

St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis, Miss.) broke Dylan Favre's record of 12,559 by throwing for more than 350 yards and five touchdowns in a 40-14 win at D'iberville. The game was halted twice by lightning and eventually called with 1:03 left in the third quarter.
According to
sunherald.com, the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder completed 21 of his first 23 passes. Brennan, the 17th-ranked pro-style quarterback in the country according to 247Sports, broke the record in the first quarter when he threw for 153 yards and two scores.
He entered the game with 12,435 yards, and now has more than 12,785 for his career and there's a lot of 2016 remaining. He also entered with 1,247 yards passing for the season.
Brennan is on pace to break his state single-season record of 5,761 yards and 64 touchdowns he set as a sophomore.
Dylan Favre also attended St. Stanislaus, which improved to 5-0.
