Saturday night will be the 16th meeting overall between these teams in the last 15 years and their eighth postseason collision. St. Xavier has a 9-6 advantage in those games and an even more impressive 5-2 edge when the teams in playoff meetings.
No. 18 Colerain (10-1) prevailed against the Bombers, 13-10 in overtime, on Sept. 5. The Cardinals' only loss this year came the following week against another Greater Catholic League South team, La Salle.
It's been a season of highs and lows for St. Xavier (7-4), which earned a share of the GCLS for the 24th time. But the Bombers nearly missed out on a playoff bid after losing three games in the first four weeks of October.
Names to watch: Quarterback
DeShaunte Jones has over 100 rushing yards in five of Colerain's last six games. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior ran for 145 yards and tied his season high of four touchdowns in a 53-7 rout of Dublin Coffman last week.

St. Xavier quarterback
Sean Clifford had a season-high 72 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to help spark a 28-14 win against Gahanna Lincoln. The Penn State recruit has 1,647 passing yards and 11 touchdowns for the year.
