The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Orem's senior Cooper Legas, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Orem got a 58 - 28 win over Mountain Crest last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Cooper Legas. Legas tossed the ball for 346 yards and six TDs. In fact, our algorithms singled out Legas as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Skyridge (4th in the power rankings) and Jordan (12th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Skyridge took its game against Jordan by a confident 58 - 34 score. Skyridge especially relied on senior Ma'a Notoa, who ran for 189 yards and also punched in three touchdowns, and senior Jayden Clemons, who earned two touchdowns and 115 yards rushing the ball.
No Stoppin 'Em
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Pine View last week (their 5th in a row). It blew past Stansbury 65 - 41. Pine View did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The combined 106 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between American Fork (3rd in the power rankings) and Bingham (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Don't be surprised if the score for this one pushes triple digits as American Fork and Bingham both racked up points last week.
