Tate Martell did for
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) in its 48-27 victory over
Servite (Anaheim, Calif.) at Cerritos College in Southern California.
It was a tight contest in the second quarter before the sophomore came in and then the Gaels put some big distance between themselves and the Friars. According to stats from the television broadcast on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, Martell was 9-for-15 with 154 yards and three touchdowns, plus 10 runs for 115 yards, in just more than a half of play.

Tyjon Lindsey, was also on fire, as he started the scoring with a 92-yard punt return for a score in the first seconds of the second quarter and then two receiving touchdowns. Lindsey finished with four catches for 76 yards and those two scores.
"We didn't come all the way to California to lose," he told Rashaun Haylock on TV after the game.
Servite outgained Gorman in the first half by a significant margin and ran more than twice as many plays, but red zone problems for Servite enabled Gorman to go into the break up 14-6 with
Russell Booze rushing for a score in the final minute.
Andrew Acosta kicked two field goals for Servite's points.
Travis Waller scored a touchdown for Servite inthe loss.

The game opened up in the second half and Martell's lead was too much for Servite, which lamented its first half penalties (70 yards in first half) and issues in the red zone. Lindsey's first TD catch made it 21-6 (in the second half) before Servite's
Travis Waller ran for a 54-yard score.
Lindsey's second scoring catch made it 27-13.
Tate Beachley scored on a short run for Servite to make it 27-20 in the third quarter but Booze scored on a scoring run to give Gorman a 34-20 lead. The nail in the coffin was delivered by Snoop Lion's son
Cordell Broadus with a 33-yard scoring catch from Martell with 7:40 left in the game to make it 41-20.
Equanimeous St. Brown did grab a 49-yard scoring pass for Servite but Booze scored again to forge the final margin.
Gorman is now 2-0 and Servite is 0-1. The Gaels entered ninth in the Xcellent 25 and Servite was 12th, and each team still has plenty of big-ticket games coming up against some of the best opponents in the nation.
