The ongoing pandemic has claimed another high-profile sporting event. Annually regarded as one of the top high school football all-star games, the All-American Bowl announced Tuesday that the January 2021 edition of the event will not take place.
Scheduled for Jan. 9, 2021 in San Antonio, organizers cited health and safety concerns for the change in plans in a Twitter post.
The All-American Bowl has produced over 450 draft picks, 160 Pro Bowl selections and 66 Super Bowl champions. See the list below for some of the game's most famous alums.
In its place, NBC will broadcast a special two-hour "All-American Bowl: Declaration Day" on Saturday, Jan. 2, recognizing each of this year’s 100 All-Americans.
