Baseball Recap: Academy for College and Career Exploration Extends Winning Streak to Five

Academy for College and Career Exploration took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Dunbar, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Academy for College and Career Exploration came out on top in a nail-biter against Dunbar on Monday, sneaking past 8-7. Winning may never get old, but Academy for College and Career Exploration sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Caedin Ferrell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). Ferrell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Ferrell is crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Coles, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Academy for College and Career Exploration: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
