The win marked the second consecutive state championship for Greensboro Day (36-2) and its seventh in the past 12 seasons.

Andrew Juergens chipped in 11 points and four rebounds, senior guard
Marty Giant added 10 points and six rebounds and freshman forward
Grant Duggins contributed eight points, six rebounds and five assists in the win.

Johnson has been the head coach at Greensboro Day since 1977 and owns a career record of 1,257-335. He ranks fifth on the all-time wins list behind only Robert Hughes, Gary McKnight, Richard Duease and Morgan Wooten according to the
MaxPreps National High School Basketball Record Book.
This is the 20th time that Johnson has won at least 30 games in a season. He has coached nearly 100 players who went on to play at the college level.
The Class of 2016 inductee to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame also won two state championships as the girls tennis head coach in 1998 and 1999.
Greensboro Day owns a signature victory over IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) at the John Wall Holiday Invitational. The Bengals won each of their three state tournament contests by double-digits and outscored opponents by an average of 24.6 points per contest this season.
Concord Academy (29-3) came into the matchup ranked No. 50 nationally, suffering two of its three losses against Greensboro Day.
