Zack Poff takes a look at this week's showdowns, including Mater Dei battling St. John Bosco.
This week's rankings feature two new teams in St. Louis (Honolulu) and St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), but relatively little movement otherwise. St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) is the week's biggest climber, jumping seven spots to No. 15 after a 28-0 shutout of Maryland power McDonogh.
The Trinity League battle Friday between national No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and St. John Bosco could upset the composite rankings, should the Braves pull off the upset.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
