LONGVIEW, Texas — A safety with 1:49 remaining in the fourth quarter brought an end to DeSoto's undefeated season Thursday in a 23-21 loss to
Longview (Texas).
In a back-and-forth contest that saw the teams tie the game three times,
DeSoto (Texas) appeared to send the game into overtime with
Desmon White's 41-yard touchdown run with 4:27 that tied the game at 21.

Longview went to the air in the final minutes, but DeSoto picked off a pass to end the threat deep in its own territory. Unfortunately for the Eagles, a fumble resulted in the ballcarrier being tackled in the end zone for a safety to give Longview the victory.
The loss dropped DeSoto, which was ranked No. 11 in this week's
MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by Army National Guard, to 9-1 on the season and 4-1 in the district. Longview is also 9-1 with a 5-0 district mark.
DeSoto opened the scoring early in the first quarter with a 53-yard run by
Devin Rushing. However
Colin Jeter tied the score for Longview with a 13-yard touchdown reception from
Bivins Caraway late in the second period.
Longview took the lead early in the third period on a
J'hason Faggans 10-yard run, but once again DeSoto tied the game with a 3-yard run by
Dontre Wilson.
Caraway opened the fourth quarter with a 22-yard touchdown pass to
Eric Hawkins, setting up White's tying score that made it 21-21. White finished with 81 rushing yards on 13 carries while Rushing had 60 on five attempts. White also completed 5 of 8 passes for 81 yards.
Caraway completed 10 of 18 passes for 159 yards and two scores for Longview. Jeter caught three of the passes for 87 yards. Faggans led all Lobo rushers with 84 yards on 16 carries.
