De La Salle defeats Centennial, finishes season at No. 1.

After beginning the season at No. 1 in the MaxPreps West Region Football Computer Rankings, De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) ends the season in the same spot after knocking off previous No. 1 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) 28-21 in the CIF Open Division Championship Game last week.

De La Salle began the season at No. 1, but lost its first game of the season in Texas to Trinity (Euless). The Spartans won 13 straight games to make their return to the top of the rankings.

Regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The West Region consists of teams from Hawaii, Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah.
