Webb City (Mo.) won the battle of unbeatens, 56-42, over MICDS (St. Louis, Mo.) to capture its second consecutive Class 4 state championship. It also marked the fourth state title for the Cardinals in the past six years.
The two teams combined to set title-game records for most points (98) and yards (1,048). Webb City also joined two other schools with its state-record tenth championship.
The Cardinals, who set another record by averaging almost 12 yards per carry, were led by
Phoenix Johnson, who carried 18 times for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback
Breckin Williams ran for 144 yards on just eight carries and scored four touchdowns.
Jamison Cady also gained 144 yards in a deep, balanced attack.

Quarterback Thomas Militello passed for 415 yards in a losing effort. He set a title-game record with 36 completions. He tied records for most touchdown passes (5) and passing attempts (46). He threw no interceptions.
