The Venture Academy Mustangs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 81-59 margin over Tracy. Venture Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 20 points or more this season.
Venture Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mario Williams out in front who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. The matchup was Williams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Cameron Lowe was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Tracy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malcom Akamien. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Martinez, who scored 13 points.
Tracy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Venture Academy racked up 18.
Venture Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Tracy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Venture Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Chavez at 5:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Chavez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 651st, while Venture Academy is ranked 153rd). As for Tracy, they will square off against Sonora at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Sonora focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
