*Of the 15 Texans rated in the top 100 recruits by 247 Sports Composite Rating, only three signed with Texas schools. After the top seven rated recruits signed with non-Texas colleges, finally No. 63-rated

Plano East (Plano) became the first to stay home when he hitched with Texas A&M.
*The state's top seven prospects chose schools outside of Texas. Ohio State and LSU were the most successful raiders, each signing three Texans rated in the top 100.
*Region III, which consists of the Gulf Coast area including most of Houston, was the most productive with 108 signees. Next with 99 was Region I, an expansive area consisting of West Texas and parts of the Dallas area. Region II, with East Texas and areas of suburban Dallas and Houston mixed in, produced 87. South Texas' Region IV was a distant fourth with 49.

Chevin Calloway to Arkansas, DL
Damion Daniels to Nebraska and LB
Shaine Hailey to SMU.

Episcopal (Bellaire) took center stage among SPC schools with two 5-star lineman prospects signing on Wednesday.
Walker Little signed with Stanford and
Marvin Wilson inked with Florida State.

DeSoto and
Cedar Hill, which met twice in the 2016 season including the Class 6A Division II state quarterfinal, reported the signing of 28 players each. FBS schools accounted for eight of the 28 DeSoto scholarships and nine for Cedar Hill. The Eagles won both match-ups over their neighboring rival on the way to the school's first football state title.
*Wide receiver appears to be the position that brings college recruiters to Texas. Among the 51 signees that make up the Texas 5A and 4A prospects, 13 are wide receivers.
