Although
Abdou Toure surely had his choice of academies and prep schools interested in his services, the Connecticut native chose to stay home and play at
Notre Dame (West Haven) to close out his high school basketball career.
The decision has benefited Toure greatly as the 6-foot-5 wing has put on a dazzling display during his senior campaign, averaging 28.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals per contest while shooting 89 of 112 (79.5 percent) from the field, 16 of 31 (51.6 percent) from 3-point range and 26 of 33 (78.8 percent) from the free throw line.
Toure also plays just 24 minutes per game due to lopsided scores, including a 101-18 victory over Socastee (S.C.) that saw him put up a game-high 24 points in just 13 minutes of action in the opening round of the Beach Ball Classic.

After signing with Arkansas last month, Toure has been his best on the biggest stages as he averaged 39.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.5 blocked shots per game at the City of Palms Classic to guide the Knights to the four-team Sunshine Series championship.
Toure followed his strong showing in Florida at the Beach Ball Classic the next week, tallying 28.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.5 blocked shots per contest against a pair of strong out-of-state opponents in the semifinals and third place game. He sat out the entire second half of a first-round blowout.
The future Razorback is the two-time reigning Connecticut MaxPreps Player of the Year.
In 2023-24 as a sophomore, Toure led the Knights to a 28-0 record and the Division I state title with averages of 21.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocked shots per game.
Last season as a junior, he tallied 25.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per outing to guide Notre Dame to a record of 25-2 and their second straight state title.
Regarded as the No. 34 prospect in the Class of 2026 according to On3, Toure is set for a major jump in the next rankings update.
Toure is in line to become the second player to earn three straight Connecticut MaxPreps Player of the Year awards this season. Donovan Clingan also won three straight player of the year awards at
Bristol Central (Bristol) from 2019-2021.
Notre Dame (8-2) will be on high school basketball's brightest stage Saturday when it faces
Inglewood (Calif.) at the Hoophall Classic.
